Of Hunam Bondage
I have two old black books of "Of Human Bondage" by doubleday press.
Can you tell me points for a 1st edition on these rather old books. There is no number line but that don't mean much on old books sometimes. Thank you Joseph McNamara |

Doran (New York, 1915). Doran merged with Doubleday in 1922. Doubleday published the first illustrated edition (Garden City, 1936; a signed limited edition of 751 copies, plus a trade edition; illustrations by Randolph Schwabe). The first trade edition of the 1936 illustrated edition states "First Edition". Decent copies of this (with dust jacket) are collectible. John http://rarebooksinjapan.org |
