Hmm, silver dollar is the denomination but the design on the reverse is
clearly stating Twenty Dollars.

TR's been getting good press in the last decade or two. He should have
no problems.

It's about time we had a coin with TR on it. I think he's a worthy
candidate.

Ah!
ROSE-velt. I guess I can tolerate that.
At first, I read it as
ROOS-evelt and was dismayed, but now I can rest merry.

When I was growing up, every year at this time, relatives would gather
for dinner and gift giving. Then they would sit around and relive the
past. After the Depression, the next event was the attempted
assassination of Franklin D. Roosevelt by Puerto Rican nationalists.
Mayor Cermak of Chicago was killed. Everyone would nod... then someone
would say, "They shot the wrong Democrat." and everyone would laugh.
It was a family tradition.

It was Truman who was the target of Puerto Rican nationalists:

FDR, which resulted in the death of Cermak, was carried out by an
insane man named Giuseppe Zangara.

Is that what was meant by "the wrong Democrat?"
