Default Detente plunger and adjustment

Need to adjust the Optical sensor on a AMI Rowe CD100b. Now the manual tells me how to do this, but the first step is giving me a problem. I need to push in the detente plunger to reset the carousel at 99. However the manual does not tell me where this is. It does point out a detente solenoid, but this unit does not seem to be able to be pressed.
Can someone give me the step by step on adjusting the optical sensor on my jukebox?
