SEEBURG L Stops Playing In Middle of Record
I am working on a Seeburg L, it selects properly and begins playing the
record, sometimes the turn table will just stop playing the record, then just as suddenly start back playing the record. This doesn't happen everytime just every now and then. Anyone have an idea what I can check to fix this. One other thing, the amp has been rebuilt, all tubes tested good but when the first record is played the volume starts out low then gradually comes up to full volume. This happens everytime. Any ideas on what to check for this? Thanks for you help in advance. |

SEEBURG L Stops Playing In Middle of Record
First issue: check the play control unit located inside the chassis of the
selection receiver; it sounds as if the contacts that control the 120 VAC to the motor are not making good contact. Second issue: that's how the amp is designed to operate, to prevent blasting at the start of a record. You can disable this feature by pulling the AVC control tube (I think it's a 6BJ6) off the pre-amp chassis on the back door. I have removed that tube but the amp still does that starts out low volume then after a minute or so comes up to normal volume. I changed out the tubes, pull the avc tube and no luck still continues to do this. I guess I can live with it that way. Thanks again! |
