Japanese Government Issued Phillipine Money
I have 3 bills in circulated condition that were issued by the Japanese
government during the second world war. The bill are 50 Centavos, 100 Pesos and 1 Peso (poor condition). Any idea of the approximate value? You can see a scan of them he http://dylancoins.com/scans/Odd_Items/bills.jpg Thanks for your help! Pete |

Pete See the recent thread in this NG "invasion noney" [sic] -- these sorts of notes tend to wind up in the junk box. They just aren't worth more than about 10c to 50c each. I've seen UNC bricks of these things for sale for a few dollars. Padraic. la cieurgeourea provoer mal trasfu ast meiyoer ke 'l andrext ben trasfu. |

I have an Oceania replica Pound note issued by the Australian government at the time fearing an invasion, seems they were attempting to educate the population about these notes. Is approximately the same size/colour as an original JIM note but my version is stamped REPLICA on the back. I believe this is catalogued as Australian. A curious copy, and more expensive than the original. Are there any Australians in who can add more to this story? Thanks Darren |
