This WWI U.S. 37th Division Unit History set is in excellent condition. It is a 2-Volume set with 3rd complete packet detailed campaign maps. The books were written by Ralph D. Cole (Division Historian) and W.C. Howells (Assistant Division Historian). They are published by the 37th Division Veterans Association, The F.J. Heer Printing Co., Columbus, Ohio, Copyright 1926-1929. Volume I is 404 pages and Volume II is 725 pages. The 2-Volume set traces the 37th Division from its inception through all campaigns during WWI and final return to home. The books are filled with photographs of battle actions. The books break down the Division by Company, describing the actions of each. There are also chapters on the German Divisions that fought against the 37th Division providing listings of German commanders and movements. The later part of the volume II has the appendixes that list the 37th Division soldier Decorations, Citations, and Roll of Honor by name, rank, unit, and whether returned to the U.S.A. or location of burial in France. Also included is a booklet containing 9 large fold-out maps of various campaign operations of the 37th Division in Belgium, St. Mihiel, Baccarat-Sector, Meuse-Argonne Offensive, Avocourt-Sector, and more in Belgium and France. There are some personal notes also included of the original soldier who owned these books as well as a 37th Division A.E.F. Veterans Newsletter dated December 1938 (addressed to the original WWI Soldier who owned these). This is a nice grouping of material great for anyone researching the 37 Division in WWI. The books measure 6 ½ inches x 9 ½ inches. They are in excellent condition. There are no loose, torn, or missing pages. There are no stains or water marks.
