Default Question about KUT 15 the orange !

G'day (whoever you are

I would put this stamp under "Light or chemical damage".
Black and Orange does not exist in my catalogue.

Hello: As Rodney wrote, I would also suggest that this stamp
was exposed to bright sunlight for a long time and the red \faded to
orange.

I too so thought.
However the black has not lost brightness and used too has not lost
colour...
And even letters under used, too the orange.

I tried a test with a red and black Canada Stamp.

I exposed it to sunlight for several weeks.
The red part turned orangey and finally faded to white.
The black part remained dark black.

Well that makes sense, black fades at a much slower rate than other colours.
Here are just some of the "colour changelings" I have seen over time
http://cjoint.com/data/kmaHsWm1Lt.htm

The Swiss issue is the closest red to orange I have seen.

It is worthwhile to check the perforations of the un-faded 15c. The
perf 13 x 13 is priced at 3.75 used, against 55p for perf 13. It
is also woth checking the watermark: the variety missing the 'A' from
the 'CA' in the watermark must be rare. It is not priced in Gibbons
this year.
