TransShipping Request.
I do a lot of "cross border" purchasing. The problem is not the cost of
books, but the cost of freight if sent individually. Another issue is that many - especially the eBay types - gouge madly on freight costs. A book being sent to Canada generally costs $6 or so. I have had some dealers try to charge as high as $27! I am looking for a booklover who will serve as an address for delivery in the USA. I will order and pay for the books, which can then be sent to X. X simply has to take them out of their shipping boxes, add them to a big box (about the size of the average booze box from the liquor stores, and when the box is full ship it to me in the cheapest manner - even Greyhound - at my expense. Anyone in Washington State interested in helping out?. A seller recently attempted to charge $18 for one book, notwithstanding a request to ship Economy Air. A more honest dealer shipped 12 books from NY State for $10.50. By shipping to an American destination, and then shipping in a lot up to Canada, I can most certainly expand my purchasing power, such as it is... Willow -- Hugs, Willow |
