Default series 2003A/4A notes?

Okay, now that Bush has been reelected (sigh) we now have a problem with the
future of paper money...last Ocober Anna Escobedo Cabral was nominated for US
treasurer and the vote was put off 'till after the election.

This causes some NON political problems...

Under the current rules, the c-notes, ones, tens and fives will be series
2003A. They announced that there's going to a new design for tens coming out in
a year, but we'll get to that later.

The new designs for the twenties and fifties are going to be
2004-A...however...

It's not certain that Secretary of the Treasury Snow is going to stay on for
the second term, which means that if Ms. Cabral gets confirmed during the lame
duck session, then the 2003/4A series may not last that long, which means that
there may be a series 2005 for a few months for the tens followed by series
2006 for the new tens and hundreds.

To summerize:

series 2003A: $1, $5, $10, $100

series 2004A: $20, $50

All to be issued sometime in the spring if Snow stays.

and the new tens? Would this mean that the new tens would START with series
2004A? Or would the series be 2005 or even 2006?

This means that there would be THREE seperate series being printed
simultaniously in, say 14 months, and the fake unity of dates that the treasury
dept. has been working so hard to maintain would therefore be completely gone.

Of course if Snow decides to go or gets pushed out, then we've got a series
2005 all down the line, and perhaps there's going to be a "moritorium" on new
tens for a year or just using the old plates until they wear out so the new
tens'll come out in 2006 with a 2005 series date.

This sort of thing hasn't happened since the Nixon administration when they the
treasurer got married and ones had a different letter than the rest, or even
the 1966 series C-notes when everything else was "dated" 1963A...
