Default $50 silver certificate

Was wonder where I might find some info on this type of note. I have either
a 1957 or 1037 Silver Cert., 50.00 dollar bill. Was just wondering about
it. I had a 1 dollar 1937 Silver when I was young, but didn't know the 50's
existed.

Thanx for any help.

Sounds to me, more like a "cut and pasted" fake $50 note.
What is the portrait on the note? What are the signatures?
Can you post a scan of the note, on alt.binaries.pictures.numismatic ?
According to Krause's "Standard of United States Paper Money", the
last U.S. "Silver Certificate" $50 note was dated 1891. A "Gold Coin"
$50 note was last dated 1922. These were both Large size notes,
measuring 3" x 7 3/8".
There was also a Small size $50 note printed with "Gold Certificate",
dated 1928. But no Small size "Silver Certificate".

If it has Green serial numbers and a green seal, it is a Federal Reserve
Note which, when issued prior to FDR's Gold order in 1933, were redeemable
in Gold...

Value?? In lower grades, maybe $65- $80... Others closer to the paper
market would/could give a more precise estimate as to 'value'...
