WWI Battlefields of the Marne Book in DJ, c. 1917

This book titled, Battlefields of The Marne, 1914, an Illustrated History
and Panoramas is in excellent condition. It is all in English, but published
in France by the Michelin et Cie, First Edition, Copyright 1917. The book is
an Illustrated Michelin Guidebook for the visit to the WWI Battlefields of
the Marne. This tourist book is 264 pages and a comprehensive pilgrimage
across the ravage battlefields and towns. The book is completely filled with
photographs (wartime and 1917 post war) photographs with photos on each page
with detailed military commentary on each photograph. Although the book was
published during the war, the part of the country which the book details had
been freed. All information was obtained from official documents and
eye-witness accounts. The first few pages (~10 pages) provides a brief
summary account of the Battle of the Marne and of the events which
immediately preceded it. There are city maps, battlefield areas, towns,
pictures of individual streets (by name) and much more. This book is a
(walking tour) type book. The major sections of the book a Historical
part (5/September 1914 - 13/September 1914), The Ourcq, The Marshes of St.
Gond, and Pass of Revignyand. Also included is a 1917 bookmark by the
Michelin Company (France Division) and French book store business card. This
is a one-of-a kind book for any WWI historian (of the Marne area). The book
is soft bound and measures 6 inches x 8 inches. It is in excellent condition
with no rips, tears, loose or missing pages, soiling or stains, or any other
damage. A great addition to any WWI research collection.
