Prez Dollars
I trade rolls of P mint Prez Dollars with a fellow in Texas, called
several banks in my area for Monroe issue. My bank said they have to order $2000, and for the last several issues they couldn't get rid of them, they will not order them. Did find one bank which will get them shortly. By time M. VanBuren comes up there will be no significant demand for the Dollar coins, they are not particularly popular now. Too bad, I find them rather attractive and get at least one roll to spend. Jim |

Jim I hope at least SOME demand continues, so I can live to complete a roll set with the Hannah Montana issue. I have had no trouble so far getting a roll of each new dollar coin from my bank. I have no idea how many rolls they order, but it looks like each teller only keeps three or four in their drawer wrapped in a rubber band, plus a few loose ones in a tray with other coins on the counter. I find it amazing that have yet to receive (unsolicited) a dollar coin in change for a purchase, beginning with the Ike's. Going back further, I never received a Morgan or Peace dollar in change either when they were worth a dollar, so maybe that says something. There has to be someone in the banking world or somewhere who cringes every three months when another glut of presidential dollars is added to the hundreds of unwanted millions already languishing in storage. Prez Dollars
Your bank is lying to you. They come in boxes of $1000.
$2000 is a bag of loose dollar coins. All of that information is available in the "Fed Flash" newsletter of the Federal Reserve. -- -Fred Shecter remove zorch two places to reply Current eBay auctions: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQ...shreadv ector Join the Revolution: http://www.sirius.com wrote in message ...
