Default TECH: SEEBURG SMC1/DISCO 160 PROBLEMS

Hi everyone, I just picked up a SMC1 juke and have started restoring it. I
have purchased the manuals but they have not come in yet. It was selecting
and playing just fine until yesterday. Now it will take a credit and select
the 45 correctly, but it starts to play the 45 and as soon as the needle
contacts the record it rejects it and goes onto the next selection. Any
help as to how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, --Rich ps. I also had to remove the old batteries from the
selection module(they had just started to leak). I neutralized the acid and
everything looks ok. Do I have to replace the batteries or not?

The problem I believe with the record coming in to play position and

rejecting right away,is a a pair of leaf switch directly under the clamp
plate that puts the record in the clamp position to play.....when the record
is in play position, the contacts should be open, not making
contact......Howard Lowe,Houston Tx
