Here's an example - these NVIs are quite common now for French
commemoratives for inland use.

On October 2, 2009 France issued stamps for the
50th Anniversary of Elvis' trip to Paris.
Denominations were "Lettre Prioritaire 20g"
priority letter (domestic rate) 20 grams and "Monde 20g"
world (international rate) 20 grams.

Dealers are asking Euro 44 (~ USD $65) for the package.

Rodney, sorry I can't help there, since recent french issues are not my
cup of tea at all.

The WNS site is a possibilty (but an average 3 months delay between
date of issue and date of publication on WNS, I believe)

The french Post website is another source, probably difficult for a non
french speaker.

I am not aware about any listing this specific.

Perhaps Dominique Stephan would be more informative.

Thank you all gentlemen,
firstly, I am unable to supply a scan, as it was brought to my attention
yesterday, at a daytime club meeting.
The gentleman in question (the only specialist collector of France in the club)
raised a question why DAVO albums, do not have sheets/pages to accomodate these stamps.

Avoiding the obvious of contacting DAVO direct, my curiosity was raised
with the stamps themselves, hence my query.
(It appears the stamps have been around for a few years)

I'll keep you posted should I receive an answer.
Thanks again.
Rodney

Hi,

This is postage, but it's not "France issued stamps". It's personnalized
stamps, here you have Elvis but it could be you ! Think something like
Zazzle. The printing is done in twice : first the stamp (legal
mentions, in offset or helio) then the illustration (with a laser
printer).

Hello Dominique,
the original query centred around these stamps
that do not show value but grams.
http://www.wnsstamps.ch/en/stamps/FR020.05

The collector uses the US "DAVO" albums, and there are no supplements for these
French issues I believe.

Hello,

You may be interested in the new
categorization by La Poste for French stamps :
1) definitive stamps (Marianne)
2) "writing stamps", stamps to use to stamp a letter (!). There are NVI
with "g" (minus) for grams.
3) "State stamps", for stamp collectors (usual face value).
4) Personalized stamps. It's beginning to be a rather complex
collection, NVI from Lettre Prioritaire 20g (internal rate) to 1kg,
Monde (world) 20g etc. for international destinations.

This is the theory !

I don't have a listing, I guess standard catalogs is the way
to go (there is no separate category for NVI "grams" stamps).

I find the new usage/weight value quite nice, although you tend
to forget what the current rate is ! It's less obscure than
the color code used for Marianne stamp :
- Green : non urgent internal letter (20g)
- Red : urgent internal letter (20g)
- Blue : urgent European letter (20g)

By the way, at the exception of "letter" stamps (A, B, C, D, from 1986
to 1991), all NVI since 1993 are forever stamps.
