Default [RCSD] Stamp Recognition Software Beta Testers Wanted

Softpro is in the final stage of beta Testing our new product ( SRS ), Stamp

We are looking for 3 good beta testers who can do most basic Windows tasks
( copy files, move files, run Windows Explorer , cut & paste etc ).

Here are the requirements.

1) Must be a current & registered user of EzStamp
2) Must have Scanner
3) 4-5 hours of your time over a 1 week period
3) Must have some US &/or Canadian Stamps to scan
4) Must fill out a report with findings & document any problems
( ie could not find stamp, bugs etc ).
5) All images you scan must be sent to us via email to validate & test the
results
before we release.
6) Will require about 50 MB of disk space on your hard drive
7) Must be fairly computer literate ( ie you know how to cup & paste
files/image,
familiar with the use of file management utilities such as Windows
Explorer ).
8) Must be using XP or preferably Vista

If you are interested, let me know, email me & I will contact you with
details.
I will need your tel # & I will call you to set up.

Thanks

Marios

Hi,

I meant to type "cut & paste", not "cup & paste" .
As for Vista, you may not like it ( neither do I ), but XP's days are
numbered.
Microsoft will pull the plug in APril of 2008 on new XP installs, & will
drop
support for it in 2010 ( at least that is what they are saying ).
Developers like myself, must support new OS's as users have them.

regards
Marios

Is it our choice on the #3's?
What is "cup & paste"?
XP OK, but Hasta la Vasta ... please!.

Not quite yet the way of the Dodo. They also say that about stamp
collecting.

So...? People are still using Novell 3.X servers, Windows NT and the
like. Windows '98 2nd Edition is fairly stable and so is Windows 2000
Pro. Even if the bigwigs create the latest and greatest, there's
gonna be a niche around for older stuff that will still run as long as
the computer, printer and supplies don't fail.

Developers like myself, must support new OS's as users have them.

This is the only catch - keep up with the Joneses... I have a client
using Access '97 for a database and it fits their needs fine. No need
to scoop up Office of the Future 2025 for them and convert every time
MS does a knee jerk.

Eventually, however, that all said - one will have to give up the
ghost in order to play with the big boys and purchase those expensive
desk paperweights that they rarely use for more than memos and e-mail.

--- :^P

The mad dash to be 1st in the market may bring some present value to a
product - all brouhaha included - but eventually the bugs come out of
the woodwork and it turns into a slow grind.

Per Vista, best of luck. I'll wait around until the next "version"
appears that seems to have a better understanding of the hardware it
is running on. Remember Windows '95? Office '95? Skipped them as
best I could, because I had a feeling that something better would
happen eventually. It did.

Hopefully, you will get some beta testers who have the tenacity to
stick with Vistarama. Best of all on your new project, whatever the
operating system.

I have been using Vista for work since February and have had not one
problem (except trying to understand it :-) )

I bought a new laptop just after it came out so that's what was
installed on it. I've a lot to learn about it yet but so far there has
not been one problem, not a one. Vista Ultimate is what it has. BTW,
it works great with Office 2000 Pro too, albeit I'm told Vista and
Outlook (not the email client) are not compatible. I'm retired so it's
not like I care about outlook anywayG.
