SIMON BARUCH 1892 THE USES OF WATER IN MODERN MEDICINE
I have an 1892 hardcover copy of Simon Baruch's "The Uses Of Water In
Modern Medicine, Vol. I", George S. Davis publisher. I can't find a reference/listing for it anywhere. On abebooks, the earliest Baruch is the 1898 "Principles and Practice of Hydrotherapy". Where can I find out more about it, and its value? Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks - Tracy |

For bibliographical information, library catalogues are a useful supplement to dealers' catalogues. The most comprehensive online source is the Karsruhe meta-catalogue (http://www.ubka.uni-karlsruhe.de/hylib/en/kvk.html). Selecting all the search options, one comes up with an 1892 copy listed by the Library of Congress, three copies on the Union Catalog of Canada (two from 1892, and one, described as a second edition, from 1893), and one copy on the HBZ, Northern Rhine Catalog (also 1893, also described as a second edition). Putting all that together, it seems the 1893 edition is the second, and the 1892 is the first. The next thing you might want to do is locate a copy of the second volume and turn this odd volume into a set. Steve Trussel's "Setmaker" has been abandoned, but his site is still perhaps the most comprehensive for turning over all the possible stones that might be out there (http://www.trussel.com/f_books.htm) and under which that elusive second volume might be lurking. Hope this helps! John http://rarebooksinjapan.org ) |

There don't appear to be any listings for the original 1892 edition. John http://rarebooksinjapan.org |
