Hello,

Picked up a Wurlitzer 1400 - my first juke, and am in the process of
attempting to restore. One problem I have encountered so far is the
wiring inside the unit itself is very brittle (selector assembly,
changer motor, etc.). My question is - are the plugs the wires go
into serviceable? When I open the plug - I can't see how the wires
attach to the inside of the socket... I am assuming it is some type
of pin soldered into the end of the wire before being inserted, but an
not sure... If that is the case - how/can I replace the wires that go
into the plugs?

Thanks!

john i think the wire is pushed into the plug then soldered. if you
have a bad wire you can heat the end of the prong with a solder iron
and pull on the wire at the same time and it will come out when heat
is applied. i have 3 of those 1400 boxes. 1 working, 1 almost working
and a parts box. all my wiring is okay. usually the wiring on
wurlitzers are okay. older ami boxes are bad about it. im in missouri.
thanks norm
