NO MORE HTML, REALLY!!!!
Okay, it is for sure fixed. You don't have to skip my posts anymore. There
was another click on in the options for IE that thanks to helpful folks here, I found yesterday, and this sucker is now staying set on "plain text" without having to rely on my terrifically convenient memory. :-) ALL CLEAR, HARV. Put away the sledge hammer!! :-) "Linda" wrote in message ... Get your "all silver" buffalo nickels in this lot, bargain priced ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=52 5 [For the unsuspecting, buffalo nickels are *not* made of silver]. Guess he meant, "all silver colored," huh? |

Thanks! Did 1 and 2, though I really would prefer my normal, non-newsgroup
mail were not "plain text" (sigh, shades of fido). On 3, the site was still down and will try again later. "Bob Flaminio" wrote in message ... Linda wrote: Okay, it is for sure fixed. Put away the sledge hammer!! :-) Now for your next trick :-) -- since you're using Outlook Express, there's a couple things you should do to ensure happy usenetting: 1) Set the security to high -- go to Tools Options, Security tab, and set it to "Restricted" zone. 2) Read all messages in plain text -- Tools Options, Read tab, and check "Read all messages in plain text". 3) Install the absolutely marvelous program "OE-QuoteFix", available for free he http://home.in.tum.de/~jain/software/oe-quotefix/ (site appears to be down right now; if it is when you try, give it a couple hours and try again.) Enjoy! -- Bob |

Gee, then you'd probably like using Micro$oft Word even better for composing your email; and then still more people will be unable to read it. As another data point, email with a high HTML content are often detected as SPAM by people that are using strong filtering. If you want your message to get though, plain ASCII text is the best option. -- Kaleb S. KEITHLEY |
