Default I love esnipe !!!

After being beaten in the last 10 seconds on two exceptional items (not
numismatic) on Monday, I broke down and trialed esnipe. I'm sold after
three sniped bids today at 5, 6, and 6 seconds before close. Don't worry,
guys - I'm won't be bidding against you on numismatic items, at least not in
the next several months if ever.

How about with a dial-up modem?

Bruce

I can snipe without a program in the last few seconds, with cable modem, so
I'm assuming the esnipe program is for people with dial up, but I could be
wrong.

That, and for people who don't have the time or inclination to sit by
their computer as auctions end. I'd much rather go out and play on a
sunny Saturday afternoon and let my robo-sniper win auctions for me than
be tied to a computer all day. And for those auctions that end in the
middle of the night? I've heard of people who actually set their alarm
clocks to wake up and bid on auctions -- not my cup o' tea, I prefer
bidding on my pillow at that time.

I'm not sure of esnipe, but with the snipe programs I use, the snipe is
kept off site on a server until snipe time (varies with service used). Your
mode of connection *does not* have anything to do with the snipe. You can
schedule snipes days, hours, etc. in advance of the auction.

The main difference between the snipe programs is the amount of time
*before* the auction ends that the program executes your bid. If you are a
paying for the service, your snipe times are closer to the end, than if it
is a free snipe.

I snipe 99% of my auctions for various reasons. Very rarely do I manually
snipe, and I have DSL.
