Default Can I clean money?

I have a stack of silver certificates my aunt gave me when she was
passing away. I have probably 60 of them. Most are 1957, but I have
a few from the 20's and a couple from Hawaii. They are in good
condition, but she had a paper clip around them, and they got stained
by rust. Is there a safe way to try to clean them, or should I just
let them be?

Don't attempt to clean these. You will end up decreasing whatever
value they have. It is possible to remove some light rust stains, but
should only be done by those with considerable experience.

The safe answer is always to just let them be. If you clean them you could
damage them and the value will surely drop.
