Default Help with appraisal

Hello. I am not a coin collector so I must plead ignorance in this
area. My wife is interested in determining the value of a coin given to
her when she was a little girl by her now deceased father. She's not
planning on selling it due to it's sentimental value. She merely wants
to get an idea of it's value (if any). I have done some preliminary
investigation on the net and have discovered it is an 1880 Morgan Silver
Dollar. It has na "S" which I understand means it was minted in San
Francisco. I have also learned that I should NOT attempt to clean it,
so I haven't. Here is a link to a photograph of the coin:

I would very much appreciate any information anyone on this bulletin
board can provide. Thanks in advance.

Its sentimental value should far exceed its collector value. A guess
would be $20 (full retail) give or take a buck or two as I am thinking
it is in the EF grade range. I think it is a nice looking coin and you
are right about the series, date, and mint and it looks uncleaned to me
too.

If you could use a 2nd opinion I would agree with Stujoe about Ef grade and
the $15-$20 retail value.
BTW, VAM has 70 entries for the 1880 S.

I have to parrot StuJoe's and Michael's responses. Decent details, doesn't
appear to have been cleaned, honest toning. Value about $20. The sentimental
value is a lot more, I'm sure.
