Default Orlando Coin Show Report (short)

OK, so I attended (for the first time) the semi-annual coin show
sponsored by the Central Florida Coin Club (website:
http://www.centralfloridacoinclub.org/ ).

I had never been to this group's show before.

Not too bad, dealers came from at least all over the state (including
folks who I didn't see at the Melbourne show that I usually attend).
Most dealers seemed quite happy with the show and their sales. One
dealers was completely sold out of gold eagles excepting the 2006's.
The only reason he had them still was because of the premium he put on
them just because they were 2006's.

The most buzz seemed to be about precious metal prices. One dealer
thinks (and another agreed with him) that 2006 may be the low year for
platinum eagles (and probably gold) because of the recent run-up in
prices along with the expected interest in a certain product coming up
about mid-year. Both dealers think everone will get sidtracked out of
gold and platinum thus reducing demand resulting in the lowest
mintages for the series'. Any prognosticators wanna comment on that
sentiment?

Another dealer commented that the Melbourne show was getting better (I
quit going due to a decreasing number of dealers participating), so I
may head back to Melbourne next weekend.

Alot was there (even on Sunday). While I didn't buy anything outright
(did make one trade though), it was a nice little show. I'll have to
make an effort to return in the fall.

"Steve Ruud" gave a report which stated, in part:

An excellent move on your part, Steve!
