Default Finds at the bank

Had a regular customer ask if he could bring in all the dollar and halves he's
accumilated at his gas station/mini mart over the last few months. Of course I
said YES, which he did the following day(today). This is what he brought.
$ 300 + in Sac and SBA, with Sac about 2/3 of the mix and SBA 1/3. The Sac
bucks looked absolutely awful after being circulated.
Also brought $57 in halves and I could hear that lovely pinging as those
silvers fell onto the counter! $2.50 in 1964 Kennedy, with one that I guess is
gold plated.
Great detail, coin looks almost UNC with some goop on it, but bright gold in
color.
Another half, a bicentenial I believe, was also gold in color. $ 5 in mixed
date 40% silver. Many looked AU, really nice. I cherrypicked the 40% and bought
all the 1964 for 5 bucks.
Sometimes it's fun to work at the bank

Dan.

Forgot to mention, saw a few 1999 & 2000 D halves in the mix also.

Why did you pay $5.00 for $2.50 face?
