Default NSM Grand Performer II Losing Memory

I have a customer who has an NSM Grand Performer II that loses memory
every time you cycle power. You can go through and reprogram
everything to make it work, but as soon as power is cycled you are back
to square one (P041 er 31 etc.). Any thoughts on what this could be
or how to troubleshoot it further? I thought it might be a battery
issue, but I could not find one. Any input and/or suggestions welcome.

Thanks,

Jim

There is a timekeeperram on the cpu board. Inside this there is a battery.

Change the chip, og see this link

This page is in German, but is pretty clear, you can also translate it
with Alta-Vista's Babel-Fish web site.

You can also replace the Dallas timekeeper IC with a socket and a newer
one, otherwise carving the top off to replace the battery is a great
idea!
