-------- Up for auction is this Roberts 770X 4 track stereo/mono
reel to reel tape recorder. This unit was purchased new in 1967 at Pacific
Stereo in San Mateo, California and placed in my uncle's law office in a
walnut and glass set of shelves next to his component stereo system. It was
intended as 'eye candy' and was never even plugged in, let alone used. It
sat there until 1997 when he retired and gave it to me.
Must be nice. I only had one uncle and I believe he once gave
me a half stick of gum.......

dBob, how is it you are conversant with Trip's wiener size? I am
guessing with those dimensions it is not that well publicized by him. Inside
information? And what is a pentode?

Well, if his brain size and function is congruent, it'd have to be
very tiny, eh?

A pentode is a five element vacuum tube...valve to the pommies, eh.
They utilize a cathode, control grid, screen grid, suppressor grid,
and plate, or anode. They are used in situations where the unscreened
nature of a simple triode allows reactive interaction between tube
elements to cause detrimental behavior. Also, the suppressor grid of
a tetrode or pentode prevents "collision loss" of electrons off of the
plate under higher power conditions.

The tubes Noodles is exclaiming the supposed virtues of aren't really
pentodes at all, but I'm not going to tell him that. Nay, it's far
too much fun to watch him make a total ass out of himself on Usenet,
for all the world to see. He thought for a long time that these tubes
were "68Q5"s because he couldn't read the tube designation. They are,
in fact, 6BQ5s, about as garden variety of a cheap tube of its type as
one can find.

You see, Noodles...you think that by deleting all those posts that
make you look stupid covers your tracks. There are other Usenet
archives other than Google, since the purchase of Déja's archive
engine prompted others to start archiving. The IRS knows this, as
well.

Doesn't the mass of the ass and the angle of the dangle figure
into that equation as well? Been a long time since H.S physics.
