Elongated Cent School Project

I'm posting this here because I firmly believe in the generous spirit of the
rcc'ers. This is basically a repeat of a post from the yahoo elongated cents
forum.

A third grade teacher in Akron, Ohio is doing a project with her class that
involves collecting elongated cents and mapping the location of origin. They
then attempt to learn about that location.

I sent them a cent from San Francisco and described my last walk across the
Golden Gate Bridge. They really enjoyed it and sent me a neat "Thank You"
letter along with an elongated cent for my collection. I will treasure both,
always.

At the end of the project the cents will be given to the students to take
home. This is an inner city school and most of these kids do not have much
opportunity for travel.
