Yes indeed,
I had come up with the solution of hand perforations, two passes. Half the problem occurs with the wonky print registration they are not parallel. On 618 the face values are 20c and on 619 are 30c. Catalogue value is $1 mint or used for each sheet. The San Lorenzo-Ibarra and other Trains. http://www.odyssei.com/images/maps/big/ecuador.jpg Until the devastating storms driven by the 1997-1998 El Niño, thousands of travelers launched their rail trips to the coast (San Lorenzo) from Ibarra, a tranquil but entertaining city a few hours north of Quito. Though the train no longer travels all the way to San Lorenzo, the remaining stretch of track from Ibarra to the village Primer Paso is well worth a ride. The trip boasts 23 tunnels, a dizzying 120-meter bridge over the River Ambi, and sojourns at several Andean villages. The train leaves every Saturday and Sunday at 8am.. The San Lorenzo-Ibarra portion of the train service has been replaced with a bus service. The 6.5 hour bus trip costs $3.50 Some tourists travelling by train on the Riobamba to Devil’s Nose route like to experience the local custom of travelling on the roof of the train. It is not recommended that you do this. If you do choose to travel this way you should be aware of the dangers as cables and bridges can be found along the route. On 16 February 2007, there was a serious incident on a “chiva” train travelling on the Riobamba to Devil’s Nose route. Two Japanese passengers travelling on the roof died after being struck by a cable suspended across the track. Two British tourists were also injured. Blair .. |

Thanks Blair,
I have the two Mini Sheets, I had thought they were the same now I see the value tablets. Your map just had me a real "moment" I must have been quite young, and probably I guess, had been reading one of those early "readers" one had in primary School. Amongst others, I remember the story of the "The Mary Celeste" I remember vividly a simple passage from a poem had captured my imagination in the reader that went "Chimborazo Cotapaxi".....and that phrase remained, even though I had no idea what it meant, it just sounded captivating. Now I see on the map Cotapaxi, and...Chimborazo that was a real WOW moment. I Googled and found the WJ Turner poem. so many thanks WHEN I was but thirteen or so I went into a golden land, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi Took me by the hand. My father died, my brother too, They passed like fleeting dreams, I stood where Popocatapetl In the sunlight gleams. I dimly heard the master's voice And boys far-off at play,— Chimborazo, Cotopaxi Had stolen me away. I walked in a great golden dream To and fro from school— Shining Popocatapetl The dusty streets did rule. I walked home with a gold dark boy And never a word I'd say, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi Had taken my speech away. I gazed entranced upon his face Fairer than any flower— O shining Popocatapetl It was thy magic hour: The houses, people, traffic seemed Thin fading dreams by day; Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, They had stolen my soul away!
