Rather can behave like the person re Edmonton stamp thefts,
(who carries on like a pork chop.)
Perhaps our Stamp community has a better solution,
print out Pink Slips with the details of the offence, and
circulate within the stamp societies.

I reckon we shall catch our person/s soon.
(let's hope)

Rod, I notice that the pink slip gave the weight in kilograms. What
happened to stones?

Tony:

The stone is problematic. It was historically used for weighing
agricultural commodities. Potatoes, for example, were traditionally
sold in stone and half-stone (14-pound and 7-pound) quantities.
(The same was used for people)

A stone as a unit of 14 pounds avoirdupois (~6.35 kg)
originates with the definition in 1340 in England of the
(now obsolete) sack defined as comprising 26 stone
each of 14 pounds (ie 364 pounds). This supplanted
earlier definitions of both sack and stone as units of
measure, and set a standard for each.

Historically the number of pounds in a stone varied by
commodity, and was not the same in all times and places
even for one commodity. The OED contains examples
including:

Commodity Number of Pounds in one stone
Wool 14, or 15, or 24
Wax 12
Sugar and spice 8
Beef and Mutton 8

Blair, I am fully aware of the stone. I was just twitting Rod for not using
it!

Hiya Tony,
In 1973 all Australians lost weight, without a diet in sight!
Here am I, in my boxer shorts.
http://cjoint.com/data/glbNn2bUbI.htm

I will post some info soon on the Arabian States for your appraisal.
Rgds.

Hmmm.
A note shall be forwarded to the SNA police.

I have no problem with the weight conversion, but
still prefer my height quoted in feet and inches.
Did you notice the height was c5'10
seems I am not the only one.

Howdy Tony,
Metrication:

That is not me in the temperature issues,
Things have now changed, and it is no longer "cool" to sunbake.
Melanoma cancers are killers.
Better to remain "white 'n ugly"

If you want a "pocket" aussie catalogue,
let us know, and I'll mail you one.

Howdy Tony,
Metrication:

The artist (Alex Stitt) in this series , which received criticism
Australia wide, went on to bigger and better things.

In 1975 he designed an Australian character "Norm", who
represented the average Aussie "bloke",
a fat, obese "couch potato".

Here is a cinderella from those times, however "Norm"
is not shown on this sticker.
(Norm had a curly Elvis style "push forward" hair-do)

The "life, be in it" campaign, was a national scheme
to target obesity, and was a smash hit, the tune behind
the cartoons, was from an old Dutch nursery rhyme.
