Selector assembly squeak
Hi,
I'm restoring my first jukebox, a 1975 Rock-ola 460. I have it all cleaned up and it's sounding much better than when I bought it but I still have a squeaking sound when the write in carriage and read out carriage are rotating. When can I do to get rid of this squeaking sound. Thanks, Rob |

I have oiled the shaft but the squeak seems to be coming from either the contacts or the carriage housing as it rides on the selector plate surface. I have cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and cleaned the area where the carriage housing makes contact with mineral spirits. I was wondering if it would be good to wax or oil the area on the selector plate that the carriage comes into contact with. |

Teflon based is probably best for this application. Very light coating of Die - Electric grease. Can buy it at automotive stores. Does not conduct electricity. Put some on your finger and rub it over the contacts. DON"T use wax. |
