wurlitzer 1100
Well, I have started that 1100 restoration and having some fun. I do have a few questions...remember, I am a beginner so don't make fun of me too much. Anyway, the paint on the door...wood looking...any ideas or instruction on how to best replicate that? Also, I am doing OK on the program selector but the light power unit next to it looks pretty bad...do guys usually just replace that and what do they replace it with? Last, the light rotation motors look pretty good...any ideas on how I can test them...I assume plugging them into a standard outlet would be a very bad idea. Thanks for the help

Victory Glass sells a decal kit for the front door. You have to be very
careful putting it on but the end result looks great. The synchronous motors are 120v so you can test them in a standard outlet. Chances are yours are noisy anyway so you'd be better off replacing them. As far as a power unit next to the selector, You can use a wire wheel or better yet take it apart and have it sprayed with glass bead. Then you can take it home and paint it. Replace the old ballast(s) also. The wires tend to fray and I've seen these
old units get super hot. If you want a few tips as to how to strip the metal door and decal it, or need any other help/advice, email me directly. I don't check this group very often.
