How do I dismantle an old Onoto pencil
How do I dismantle an old Onoto pencil?
It is the type that winds up the lead by your turning the cone at the writing end. A similar looking pencil that I have sends up a metal tip to expel the lead at the end of the wind. In the case of the Onoto I think a stub of lead is jammed into the lead holder, which prevents the metal tip expelling the final bit of lead. My problem is that I can't see how to separate the winding mechanism from the plastic body of the pencil. The pencil dates from the middle of the last century, I presume.
