Default 2006 Silver Proof sets on the Mint's site

Went on sale a couple hours ago. Same price as last year (I think) with
Silver at twice the spot price. It'll be interesting to see if they sell out
fast. I had no trouble getting on the Mint's site and ordering them a minute
after they went on sale.

Doesn't matter when spot prices are just illusions anyway (and the US
mint was NEVER supposed to be retailing the first place), but the proof
is in the sale .... isn't that what Mencken was referring to?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

However, I'm not laughing about that, because I'm no more immune to the
effects of a clueless population ripe for unconscionable abuses, than
the unscrupulous enterprises behind them, but then, slugs beget slugs.

"Statehood Quarters" .... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Considering in past years they are available for more than half the year why
would this year be different? Just because of silver prices? They already
charge a massive premium over the acutal value of silver, no?

It doesn't matter if our favorite coins are
ancient Roman coins or statehood quarters, the reason for liking them
is the same.

You don't understand that it makes you look cool to bash state quarters
collectors.

I thought I'd wait to see if my subscription works this year. I
subscribed for 3 or 4 years, but never received anything until I gave
up and put in an order. I tried subscribing again this year, but to
tell the truth, my hopes are not great. I'll be shocked if I see any
sets until I order them... again.

Anita-
Don't know what's up with you subscription problem, I have had 'scripts
for both proof sets, and both mint sets for about 5 years and never had
any problem. The only reason for having scripts is to hopefully not get
shut out (IMHO) and if you have to go in and order cause they didn't
work, they seem kinda worthless!!!! I was just checking mine and
message was "item in reserve" which gave me a little pause as normally
scripts go out first. Hope all is well, and if it doesn't change in a
coupla days, will give them a call.
Anyway, long way to say Sorry that yours aren't working and will keep a
good thought for you.

your friend in coins,

Rick

She has a way with words, doesn't she. Says in a sentence what I try
to say in a paragraph.
