At a stoop sale in Brooklyn...

ARC of Guterson's 'Snow Falling on Cedars'. Online asks from $60-$300.
Seller wanted $2. I was about to remonstrate that that was too much
for a PB, but I decided to quit while I was ahead :-)

Congrats!

I had a serendipitous purchase this weekend too. Having just finished reading a
trade paper copy of James Ellroy's "My Dark Places", I happened on a signed
first in fine condition for $8.

Isn't the unsigned first the rarer item?

Yes, Ellroy signed the entire 1st edition print run, so the unsigned
1st is definately a rarity.

Well, he signed sheets that were later bound into the books--and not so
much signed as scribbled his initials...

Interesting. How big was the run that he signed?

65,000 copies, reportedly.
