Default Tech: Wurlitzer 3200

I need some help with my Wurlitzer 3200 (Americana 2). I am able to
select and play a record by pulling up a stop on the changer
mechanism, however I'm unable to select a record from the buttons.
When I push a letter or a number, it locks and I'm able to release it
with the release button. Also, when both a letter and a number are
selected, the release button will unlatch them both. The later does
not seem correct, but I'm not sure. I do have a manual, but still
trying to figure it out.

I'm not sure if all of the contact switches are set open or closed
correctly in either a rested or selected position. However from what
I can determine from the manual, they appear to be correct. How can I
best determine which way they should be?

Secondly, assuming the contact switches get set correctly, where do I
go from there in determining what the problem might be?

I've had great help from news groups in repairing pinball machines.
Hopefully someone can be of help here as well.

Thanks.
