Default First Try At Ironing Tape

You guys are way too paranoid; I have a tape that I would rather keep in
decent shape by not peeling away what doesn't need to be peeled away.
Nothing other than that.
After all this, the tape sounds no better anyway, maybe passes the head
easier, but there is no improvement I can hear.

Ironing tape with an enegized electric iron will partially erase some
of the high frequencies, plus you'll still have plenty of dropouts
here and there. On severely "accordioned" tapes, I've only had one
success story, and it was on Ampex tape...the "heated spoon" technique
worked well enough to where only a couple of minor high frequency
dropouts were apparent. Most of the time, however, while the cart
will function OK, there's some loss of signal.

I don't know about "responsibilities," but I do know, just from
scanning the archives, that ommadawn's been around longer than has our
resident paranoid delusional rag picker. So, if he wants some advice,
I'm more than willing to share whatever I have. What pains me is that
Noodles will read all this and then pass it off as being his own
later.

I'm laughing so hard, I can barely type ! (lol)

I've been around here a lot longer than you, too. So go away.

And besides, who are you to answer questions on the 8-track format,
when you did not indulge and immerse yourself in it back in the heyday
of the 1960-70's ?

seems any knowledge you claim to have, was only copied from the net
here- and you are simply "parrot-ing" that back to anyone who asks a
question

your choice of decks speaks volumes, and attests to your 8-track
ignorance- you only own 2 DC powered decks.

the VW's of 8-track decks....
