Welcom to the exposition of the most unusual currencies of the world. www.monetarium.ru I agree that there are some realy neat pics there, but it is kind of hard to navigate the site if you don't read Russian. -- ©¿©¬ ~ Ed Hendricks ANA# R178621 "Life is a coin. I recently read that Krause will be offering the newest version of their "Unusual Coins of the World" in June of this year, last published in 1992. If anyone gets a copy, I have one coin that was supposed to go in there that I'd like looked up -- it's a spoof of the East German 10 or 20 Mark commems that makes fun of the police state. It was likely issued in 1989-1990. Instead of "Democratic Republic" it reads "Demoralized Republic" in German. |

Cliff Clinton quarters are so old school. We've moved on to California & Hawaii: http://www.sexyquarters.com/ (Of course when they wear on the high points, the whole effect is ruined.) |

Here's a site in English that features many of those same coins: http://www.coin-invest.li/ |

I like teh b00bies on the California and Hawaii ones, but the Arizona one is a bit of a stretch. Wouldn't a more appropriate Arizona image be an old couple in a golf cart? -- Bob |

This appears to be a company (private mint?) in Liechtenstein that mints medals and calls them coins. Am I wrong here? -- ©¿©¬ ~ Ed Hendricks ANA# R178621 "Life is a coin. No, these are actual coins from countries like the San Mariana Islands, Liberia, etc. The company itself is one of those executive service firms that can locate the strange and exotic to fit expensive tastes. (Try saying Liechtenstein three times fast.) |
