What? I always thought the term "recone" didn't reflect what they
actually did *most* of the time. The only speakers I ever had repaired
without getting new voice coils where for some old Marantz where the
foam surround disinigrated.

I am assuming your bad speaker had a tear in it but other wise was fine?
Or was the "spider" broken?
