Isn't 1787 a tad late for George III?

I'd need to see a picture, but it could be Colonial Coinage of New York.
In 1787, they had a coin with an Indian on the front with similar words.
They had 3 styles that had the NY Coat of Arms, an Eagle sitting on a
globe, or George III. What is on the reverse side of this coin?
Beware though, there are copies of these coins out there (without the
value).

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I had someone call me today, saying
they had a piece dated 1787, copper (or similar) with an Indian on the
front, with a legend (on the obverse) of "Libertatum Defendum"?
I never heard of such a piece...I told him it was probably a token or
medal, but I really didn't know. I'll probably have a look at it this
weekend, but meanwhile...
Anyone know what this might be?
TIA,
..Tom
