This book titled (Dictionary of Marks - Pottery and Porcelain) by Ralph M.
and Terry H. Kovel is in its original dust jacket and in excellent
condition. The book is published by Crown Publishers, Inc., New York,
Copyright 1972. The book is 278 pages and is a comprehensive reference on
ways to identify American, English and European porcelain. The book is
indexed to provide an easy way to identify the markings. There are over
5,000 different pottery/porcelain marks and listed by prominent features and
with a complete cross-reference. Included information is geographic location
of the mark, factory or family name of manufacturer, type of ware, method of
producing the mark on the object, color of the mark, and date when the mark
was used. The book has a forward section on the marks of Delft, Sevres, and
England 1842-1883. This is a nice reference book on pottery and porcelain.
The book measures 8 1/2 inches x 6 inches. It is in excellent condition with
no rips, tears, creases, or missing pages. There are no stains and no water
damage or soiling. There is no damage or soiling to the dust jacket.
