Court Of Honour

SPM proudly presents a rare Straits Settlements atamp collection at the
court of Honour of this year's WSC.

Hights of this outstanding collection include the only know Straits
Settlements cover bearing all four 1854 values of indian stamps, earliest
known B172 cover, only known Edwardian Essays (1901) and imperforate plate
proofs of local stamps (1903-04).

These are the products will be released during WSC 2004 on 28 August
beside items no 13 only released on 30 Aug 2004.

1. Singapore, A Global City Set of 15 souvinir sheets with overprinted WSC
2004 logo & limited number.

2.Singapore, A Global City Set of 15 souvinir sheets without overprinted
WSC 2004 logo with limited number.

3.Souvinir sheet (6 stamps in one sheet). $12.60 per sheet.

4.Gobal City miniature sheet will be issued in imperforated. 3,000 sheets
only. $200 per sheet.

5.Exhibition souvinir cover. $0.25 per cover.

6.Pre-cancelled first day datestamp of 28 Aug 04 souvinir cover (Cover

Report on the Spink Sale on 19 June 2004 : Quite interesting prices were
realised for Straits Settlements stamp booklets. It raised the prices by
hundred-, even a thousand-fold. Below are some of the realised prices :
Lot 150 $6000(1925 $1.20 black on red,SG SB4). Lot 151 $4000(1927 $1 black
on grey,SG SB5. Lot 154 $6500(1927 $1.20 black on blue SG SB7). Lot 155
$6500(1929 $1.20 black on red SG SB4a).

Victorian stamps also commanded interesting prices as well.Lot 78
$1300(Two cwnt on 8c orange, SG 54-56 unused without gum).Lot 79 $4800(Two
cwnt on 8c orange, double surcharge SG 54a).Lot 93 $8500(8 on 8c on
12c,"s" of "cents" low, SG 80/80c).

Exhibition:

Coffee Or Tea

Date: 5 July 2004 - 2 January 2005

This exhibition gives you a rare chance for an amazing journey towards
understanding cofee and tea - not as mere beverages, but as a living
culture and also keeps you psyched up though intriguing snippets on the
local coffee and tea evolution - from the street hawker, the coffee shop
and the Kopitiam to the cafe trend.

Sinpex 2004

Date: 7Aug2004(Sat)-9 Aug 2004(Mon).

Singpex will be held during the National Day period, It will feature
exhibits from the schools, both grouped and indivadual exhibits. There
will also be the dealers' stalls and Singpost will issue the National Day
stamps on 9 August, with the special datestamp, at the Philatelic Museum.

Admission to the museum is free on 7-9 August.

Gift Of A Letter

Date: 23Aug2004 - March 2005

An upcomming exhibition discuses how evolution of e-mail has shifted
traditional letter. It also captures the perspective of a generation most
likely to have never sent a physical letter.
