eBay is a great place to buy this crap, but very little
of it is even worth the effort to list.

* Lenox e.g., figurines, ornaments, ...

We have Lenox and Tiffany fine china we'd be willing
to sell on eBay, but the market for it appears to be
collapsing. The generations that preferred class to
convenience are all shuffling off to assisted living.

* Bradford Exchange "yes, the collector plates."

First rule of collecting:
Never collect anything sold as "collectible".

Philip K. Dick is dead.
Kipple died with him.

Link to auctions (at bottom of post) of items sold (receiving at least
one bid) worth at least $20; that is the items that make-up
(approximately) a quarter of all Ebay auctions (receiving at least one
bid) for decorative collectibles.

Link to auctions are only intended as rough benchmarks of what to
consider for purchase and subsequent resale. Most 'decorative
collectibles' are worth less than $20; collectibles that sell for more
than $20 are harder to find.

Once again, the 'OTHER' categories -- other brands, other items are
the watchwords; esp. with the higher-priced, more unique items.

Ironically, the best finds are often those found after digging through
the junk to avoid; as good finds may have been overlooked/undervalued,
and hence got lost, well....in the shuffle!

Do these items show up often at your local garage-sales, estate sales?

* PartyLite - candleholders, candles.

* Enesco - Other than the 13 items categorized.

* Longaberger-Other than the 12 items categorized.

* OTHER brands (Other than the 66 brands categorized) Picture frames.

* Unbranded items (Other than the 22 items categorized) Bookends.

P.S. With all of the worthless junk largely made of plastic, I'd love
to see this alot of this plastic distilled into oil. Yes, there are
industries (outside the U.S.) that do this recycling on a profitable
basis.
