Even if for an individual, who sends a quite limited number of letters, a 10
percent increase in postal rates is acceptable, and they would pay even more
for a better service, a known consequence of postal rates increases is that
many companies that operate by mail are driven out of their core business.
This backfiring should not be ignored either.
But it's the typical response of a nonaccountable bureaucracy.
Give less service, charge more, then whine that 'business' is
falling off!
It's not, as it's a monopoly, that we have any other real choices
for anything physical that must be sent.
