Wow! I'm full of questions today. As you can tell, I'm working on my
Spain. Here are a couple Souvenir sheets that I can't seem to find
listed. I have had them laying about for a few years and just don't
know what to do with them. I think they are cool. Any ideas as to
their proper place in the album?
Thanks!

Hello Wolf.
You may wish to reserve a small section for the Spanish Civil War at the
end of yourSpaincollection. Over time you will find many a
Scott-unlisted item to fit there. There were many "pro" issues at the
time intended as charity for the pro-xxx; in this case, the population of
Segovia (between Madrid and Valladolid). I have seen Barcelona,
Valencia, Valladolid, .... If our new friend Pedro C. is reading this he
might even have a Civil War catalogue that lists them -- can't remember
the name of the book right now to save my life.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I've just checked 2009 and 2000 editions of Spanish Edifil catalog and
they do not list them. It is the first time I see those sheets. If
possible
I'll ask a national expert when he comes from his holidays in a month or
so.
They do not seem to be listed in the civil war years nor post-war years,
nor
in the Beneficencia (Charity) section, so I assume they are really rare,
or
not issued proofs.

Pedro

Hi Pedro,
The only PRO.xxx stamp I ever saw coming out of Andalucia was from Seville.
It had Pro Sevilla overprinted in red diagonally (lower left to upper right)
over a darkened effigy of the Macarena - almost like a wood-cut. I was
wondering if you could please check in the Beneficencia section or your
Civil War catalogue and see if that one is listed? I would love a scan of
that particular one. Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony and All.

I have found a great reference source for Spanish stamps + labels.
They currently have over 18,000 lots ofSpainlisted (with scans).

This covers from the earliest stamps to present, including thousands
of Spanish Civil war items.
