Petra - city of the dead in Jordan. I would be surprised if Jordan did
not have it on a coin or banknote.

My sister and her family visited it last year. They got there at 6:OO AM
since the desert heat later in the day would be unbearable. They and their
Jordanian friend who was showing them around the country were the only people
there, they had it all to themselves. Tourism to the mideast has fallen a lot
in recent years due to terrorism concerns but they were determined not to
be afraid.
