They have been shaking the trees pretty hard for the past decade or two. I
think we're almost down to the occasional "lost horde" scenario by now, because
it is clear to me that all dealer stocks have been searched over and over for
FBL and Cam Franks that command huge premiums.

IMO, MOST proof set are still with their original purchasers. The mint mailing
list is in the millions, and not all of them are collectors. Most are buying
them for the kids or because they think the sets will be worth something
someday. They'll sell when they die. The people who bought the sets in the
1950's and 1960's are likely still alive.
