Is the US Mint fair?

Is it fair to allow multiple orders on items that are extremely limited
like the 3 piece gold american eagle set? Some get 10..many get none.

New Uncirculated AE Mint Sets

Wouldn't this be illegal? One can't advertise a coin as limited
edition. Then once it sells out continue to offer it as a single
option.

New Uncirculated AE Mint Sets

The sets to buy are the 3-coin sets with the 2006 only reverse proofs.
The 2 coin UNC set is nothing special since these coins, as I
suspected, are a new annual addition to the American Eagle lineup.

Philly Mint Visit

In the early 80's FM slimmed down its minting facility to about 30
people, 8 or 9 presses and the blanking equipment. I toured in 1994
and saw the two silver smelting machines in operation. Their...

Blanks which arent carefully prepared can show surface defects even
after strike.

silver which have been cast, rolled, and rolled several times again.
The blanks are burnished with a water, chemical agent and tiny...

Silver Eagle 20th Anniversary

Are the Uncirculated version with a "W" mintmark exclusive to the 20th

How about a 10 kilo Silver coin?

Its 138,000 Yen which translates to a little less than $1200. Which
makes sense given the quality and the price of similar items.

I stand corrected on the cost. While I firmly believe modern UNC
commes are matte proofs...it probably does cost more for the diemakers
to mask out the mirror surface with masking tape to allow...

What is a cameo finish?

Well all commems are at least double-struck ... often several times.
Any collector style coin is at least double struck.

I was at the Franklin Mint in 1999 and they were striking some Life of
Christ...

What is a cameo finish?

Aren't Matte Proofs used all the time here? The UNC versions of all
Commems are essentially Matte Proofs. The UNC version of the 1986
Liberty Half Dollar was a true mint quality specimen. But the...
