8-track tape in a big tangled pile on the floor.. fixable?

Hi everyone

Well, you guys have probably been here many more times than me, so let
me just ask.. do I bother to try and spool all the tape back up into
an empty 7" reel and then into the cart, or do I just pick up the tape
and head for the nearest garbage bin?

I'd appreciate any advice, ideas, comments, etc.

What kind of tape?

Matters if it's a Barry Manilow tape or a Lou Reed Metal Machine Music, if it's
worth your time messing with.
There's info on the 8trackheaven website.

Especially if it is a rare Barry Manilow "1" flat pack like the one
winnard posted on here a while back.
