New Colorized $100 Bill

Hey guys,

Its been a while. I was just wondering when anyone here thinks the new
colorized $100 bills will be released into circulation. I figure most
of the time new U.S. currency is released, it is usually in the spring
or fall of the year, and the new $100 bill obviously not going to be
released this spring, seeing as, the Treasury and Federal Reserve
annouced a six months notice before the actually release of the new
$100 bill. So, obviously I'm guessing September through November as a
possibilty. They would probably try to get them out for Christmas, I
would guess, seeing as the holiday season is when people spend large
amounts of money.

One thing I would like to mention is, you know how they "claimed" that
the problem with the new $100 bills was sporatic creasing in the
paper? Well, I told a worker at my local credit union about that
problem and she said "Thats not the real reason they aren't releasing
the new $100s yet, but I can't tell you the real reason why" So what
do you guys think "the real reason" is?

Probably that would interfere with the new issuer of US currency-Parker
Brothers.

Yes, I'm sure the Treasury Dep't informs some rinky-dink credit union all about
the $100 bills but no one in the media has a clue.
Drago, you haven't been missed - go crawl back under your rock.

I don't want to start a major Liberal vs. Conservative flame war here
(but I'm sure someone will), but with the Feds constantly printing
more and more money due to excessive government spending (BOTH sides,
people), we've got so many current $100 bills that it'll take years
before they wear out to be replaced. I still, occasionally, get a
small portrait bill from my bank. And it's usually in pretty good
shape.

I've noticed that older large portrait $20s are getting harder to find
and newer colorized $20s predominate. The $10s and $5s seem to lean
toward colorized over the older large portrait bills. As for $50s, it
seems evenly split.

The Fed reportedly still hasn't announced a release date yet, so I doubt
even the most savvy credit union worker would know. Are you suggesting
some sort of conspiracy here? Since I can't afford to collect $100 bill
varieties, and seldom see one anyway, I never gave the topic much thought.

Methinks (without much evidence)that the BEP is waiting to see if counterfeits of the new $100 will surface BEFORE the notes are released here. This would probably be a sign that the jolly Germans are directly helping the North Koreans to make high quality fakes.

I do use a fair amount of cash and the new colorized FRB notes now greatly predominate in each and every denomination that has been redone.

Looks like a direct hit, Mr. Stein. Nice shot, 'though the target might have been rather easy.
