Uncirculated?
How can a note bearing the stamp "withdrawn from circulation" be
described as "uncirculated". :-) Especially as the note was issued in 1939 or earlier and it wasn't withdrawn until September 1941. Billy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...1663 370&rd=1 |
It could mean that the note was never circulated after it was printed, then
overprinted as withdrawn. It would have been easier to destroy it. Perhaps someone can elucidate that. Tony "note.boy" wrote in message ... According to Duggleby notes overprinted like this were, "soiled notes
being held for destruction". Billy "A.E. Gelat" wrote: It could mean that the note was never circulated after it was printed, then overprinted as withdrawn. It would have been easier to destroy it.
