Al Gore’s Personal Energy Use Is His Own “Inconvenient Truth”
Gore’s home uses more than 20 times the national average

Last night, Al Gore’s global-warming documentary, An Inconvenient
Truth, collected an Oscar for best documentary feature, but the
Tennessee Center for Policy Research has found that Gore deserves a
gold statue for hypocrisy.

Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville,
consumes more electricity every month than the average American
household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric
Service (NES).

In his documentary, the former Vice President calls on Americans to
conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home.

The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh)
per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore
devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than
twice the electricity in one month than an average American family
uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s
average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.

Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption
has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to
18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill.
Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080
per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore
has to be willing to walk the walk, not just talk the talk, when it
comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research
President Drew Johnson.

In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural
gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

Doesn't he also work from his home and have a number of people working
there?

Yup. It takes three to four very busy staff just to
keep him sated with delicious pastries. Some say global warming is directly
linked to his continuously operating bake ovens.

PURE Republicanism?? It's now clear.
Six years of PURE Republicanism - BOTH houses
AND the Prez. Pure as it gets.
So?
Are you better off now than seven years ago?
Are you proud with what they have done to
America and her reputation? ...To your reputation?
....all the sleaze, lies and bribery?
How about all the killing?
....Americans torture now? Proud?

If actions speak louder than rhetoric, then
name ONE good thing about Republicanism.
Just one.

Just one *real* thing.

Can't do it?
You have only feelsgood rhetoric?

So? Your Republicanism more like a bad habit then?

Charlie's obviously regressing from simple paranoid delusions to full
blown paranoid schizophrenia. They make up their reality as they go
along, and he'll wind up hurting or killing somebody if he doesn't get
treatment soon.

Verizon dumps 26457 alt.* NGs, as promised

As I'd warned a couple of days ago, Usenet browsers will find, after
having their client do a directory refresh, that Verizon has indeed
dumped ALL alt.* (and anything that isn't in the "Big 8") newsgroups
from their servers. Time-Warner has supposedly shut down Usenet
servers entirely, but I cannot verify that at this time.

That's it..."anarchists-lunatics-trolls" is toast.

Constitution protected 'Public Discourse' is toast too...

I wonder if the neocon media is getting ready for the much-whispered
'August surprise'.

Bush/Cheney and the neocons have been wanting to eliminate Usenet for
some time...too many of their little scams and scandals have a way of
breaking in Usenet political groups and then find their way into the
morning papers. Remember PlameGate? That started surfacing in
alt.politics.* groups long before the big bloggers got ahold of it.
Bush's 9/11 culpability has been discussed on and on in those same
groups. Now, MOST people can't even access these groups without
paying for a commercial service, which would probably let out 80% of
them...or more. Another prime mover: the record labels, who have been
after the mp3 and lossless groups for a long time but lacked the
knowledge, ability or legal premise with which to do it. So, Cuomo's
"kiddie porn" consent decree aids them probably more than it does stop
distribution of kiddie porn in alt.* newsgroups.

Since "Goo Goo Groopz" doesn't even have the ability to get
attachments or binaries, it probably won't be affected much...and
everyone knows that dung heap as being a repository for all the
"lusers" who can't figure out how to make Usenet work for them,
anyway, hence they aren't even worth reading.

Remember, it was Bush/Cheney sycophant AOL that started this by
elimiating Usenet server access from their subscribers' accounts
entirely quite awhile back, even if it was by using their hosed up
client software.
